English Announcements - November 19, 2023

1.     The 2024 church calendars are now available! Please feel free to pick one up at the foyer before or after Sunday service.

2.    Please note that Children’s Church is now starting at 9:30am instead of 10:00am every Sunday.

3.    We invite y’all to join us in decorating the sanctuary for Christmas today after service. For those who have signed up, we look forward to seeing you at the English Worship appreciation lunch meeting or the Kids Min lunch meeting after Christmas decoration today.

4.   This month we are sending our financial support to Canadian Chinese School of Theology Vancouver and Daniel & Melody Juliet Cheung , international workers at Mexico from GO International. The updated profiles and prayer requests of both organizations will be posted on WhatsApp and on our website.

5.    Newbern Safe Ministry Webinar – To promote a safe environment for worship, witness, and work free from sexual misconduct, we invited Elke Carlson, the Director of Safe Ministry from The Alliance Canada to present an educational webinar on Saturday, Dec 2 at 3-5pm. Cantonese interpretation will be provided.

November EB Meeting Highlights

1.     Accepted Pastor Isaac’s decision to step down from his role as Newbern’s Volunteer Consulting Pastor as of Jan 1, 2024

2.    In view of the increase incidence of respiratory illnesses in the church, the church’s Communicable Disease Prevention Policy will be updated according to the current BC COVID-19 guidelines

3.    Some roles of the 2024 Elders have been confirmed

English Announcements - November 19, 2023

1.     Welcome – A hearty welcome to our guest speaker Rev. Ralph Hardy. Thank you, Pastor Ralph for sharing God’s Word with us today.

2.    Please come join us for refreshments after the Cantonese Service in the basement.

3.    The Mandarin Small Group will be meeting today in classrooms 5&6 for a potluck lunch (12:30pm) and Alpha course (1:30pm). Please contact Ps Marcus if you are interested.

The amount collected will be sent to the following organizations: World Vision Canada, Canadian Foodgrains Bank, World Relief Canada, Compassion Canada, The Alliance Canada: Global Emergency Response Fund.

3.    Please come join us for refreshments after the Cantonese Service (12pm) at the church basement.

4.   The 2024-2025 Elders Election – The finalized Elder candidates are Jessica Li, Kenny Kan and Roger Hiew, and a special members meeting will be held in the English Sanctuary next Sunday, Oct 29 at 12:15pm to elect the Elders.
