English Announcements - August 20, 2023
1. Praise the Lord! After more than a year of searching, the Pastoral Search Committee and the Board of Elders have affirmed God’s call for Pastor Andy Beh to be our full-time Pastor of English Ministry. Additionally, we are also delighted that Pastor Michelle Yu has also been called to serve as our half-time Pastor of Kids’ Ministry. Both of them will start their service on Sept 16, 2023. An installation service is being planned, with details to come.
2. The English Ministry Committee will have a special meeting and dinner at Pastor Marcus' home on Aug. 27. Pastor Andy will be present to begin connecting with the EMC members. Please pray that God will build up and use this team greatly!
3. Kids' Ministry: the summer arrangement will extend through September. Children and youths will continue to join the English Service. During the Cantonese Service, simplified children's programs will continue to be provided, subject to the availability of volunteers. New fall term programs will begin in October.
4. 2023 CCC Winter Conference will be happening on Dec 27-31 at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel. Registrations are open and the super early bird deadline is Aug. 31. Please visit their website for details: www.cccwc.ca.

English Announcements - July 23, 2023
1. Mission Profile Presentation.
2. Newbern's Summer BBQ/Outing – August 5 (Saturday) at Burnaby Fraser Foreshore Park. Event hours are from 9:30am to 3:00pm. Cost $15 for adults, $12 for children ages 5-12, free for children under 5. Please register and give your payment to either Ivy Yau or Gina. Please also kindly let us know if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions upon registration. Rides could be arranged upon request. Deadline for registration is July 30, we encourage everyone to invite family and friends. Come and join us for a bbq lunch, games and prizes!
3. Church Clean-up Day – Come join us in cleaning our church on Saturday, July 29 at 9:30am-3:00pm. Please bring your own masks and cleaning supplies. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. For more details, please contact Daniel Chin.
4. We are pleased to announce that Pastor Andy Beh has applied for the English Pastor position. He will be preaching in the English Service Aug 6 and have a meet-and-greet meeting with our congregants at 11:00, followed by a series of meetings and interview with our church leaders. All are welcome to attend the 9:30 service and 11:00 meeting.
5. Pastor Karen has completed her two years of service in Panama as an International Worker of the C&MA. Her next mission field will be with the Mission Assistance Team (MAT) of the CCACA serving in Suriname, from October to December this year, for a period of three months. This new role will be self-funded. Financial support will not be collected by the church or the Global Ministry of C&MA. On July 24, she will return to Vancouver to attend the Joint Mission Convention (JMC). Next, to explore ministry to the Jews, she will attend the Lausanne Consultation on Jewish Evangelism (LCJE) held in Poland on Aug 13-18. Please continue to pray for her in all these areas!

July EB Meeting Highlights
a. A statutory holiday policy and a work-from-home policy have been approved.
b. A love feast will take place after baptism service on Thanksgiving Sunday.
c. A church rental policy and agreement form have been approved for use.
d. The purchase of a big-screen TV for the basement hall has been approved.
English Announcement - July 2, 2023
1. Rainbow Garden Video Presentation.
2. Please join us from 11:00-11:35 for this morning’s Facilitated Discussion led by Ps Ralph, where we will be exploring ways to improve the helpfulness of our discussions.
3. Kids' Ministry in the Summer: For the months of July and August, there will be no children’s program during the English Service. Children are invited to join the English Service. During the Cantonese Service, simplified children's programs will be provided subject to the availability of volunteers (pre-school to Gr. 4 in Children Sunday School, and Gr. 5-8 in youth group). If you can volunteer to help once a month during the Summer, please contact Ps Marcus.
4. Please note that the church office will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, in lieu of Canada Day Holiday; and on Friday, July 7, for church Summer Camp.
5. Please note that there will be no English Service and Children’s program next week, due to Summer Camp. If you are attending Summer Camp, please pick up an info sheet at the foyer after service.
6. Beginning on July 1, Ps Marcus has switched from being ¾ time to full-time pastor, taking on the additional role of Interim Pastor of English Ministry.
7. Today is Ps Ralph’s last Sunday as our Interim English Pastor. He will continue to serve as a regularly guest speaker in our English Service, and to lead the online men’s group moving forward, until circumstances change. We are grateful for his interim ministry in our church since mid-November last year, and his continual dedication to the Lord and His people here. His return with Karen to serve among us has been a blessing to people of all ages. May the Lord bless them, their family, and their work in the church and in the marketplace.
