English Announcements - Oct 2, 2022

1.          Thanksgiving Special Events - The Thanksgiving Joint Service next Sunday will begin at 11:00 am and will end at around 12:30 pm. There will be a baptism/communion (Jess Lau & Tony Lau) during the service.

2.        The church office – will be closed on Tuesday, Oct 11 in lieu of Thanksgiving Holiday.

“Highlights from the Elder Board meeting in September”

a.   The budgeting process for 2023 will begin immediately with all departments being requested to submit their budget proposals by Oct 16.

b.   The church will begin to scale back online worship services over the next few months.  Several options are being considered, and inputs from members are welcome.

c.   A core team for the planning of the 47th Church Anniversary has been formed: Pastor Arthur, Kenny, and Ivy. They will begin to recruit others to help with this work.

a. Pastor Marcus will take September 14-21 off to do his research and writing. For urgent matter, please contact Pastor Joe or Elder Ivy during this time.

b. Jasmine Ho will start as our new Interim Administrative Assistant on Sept 13, while Susanna Wong will remain to support and train her until Sept 30. Meanwhile, the postings for the permanent Administrative Assistant and English Pastor have been made public. May God bring us suitable candidates for both positions.

c. In view of Pastor Joe Chan's workload with the CCACA, his renewable contract as our Interim Pastor of English Ministry has been adjusted to half-time from September to October.

d. Pastor Monique Chan has been contracted as our Pastor of Children’s Ministry (half-time) from September to December, 2022, renewable.

3. Sunday coffee and fellowship time – will resume at 9:00 am and 12:15 pm, subject to change. Please plan on using these time slots to connect with new and old friends over hot drinks and snacks.

4. Rainbow Garden: Since our initial sowing earlier this year, the Rainbow Garden ministry has been growing

vegetables at our church. We are ready to harvest today! We will share the video of the harvesting with

everyone later.
