1.   The church office – will be closed next Tuesday in lieu of Labour Day.

2.  Starting next Sunday coffee and fellowship time – will resume at 9:00 am and 12:15 pm, subject to change. Please plan on using these time slots to connect with new and old friends over hot drinks and snacks.

3.   Volunteer Service Roster Update – We love having you in our service team! Please indicate your involvement for the upcoming 2022-2023 term by scanning the QR code for a Google Form located at the back of the sanctuary! Thanks for your input!!

4.  Pastor Karen’s Latest Newsletter – has been posted on WhatsApp. Please pray for Pastor Karen.    

 Staffs and Pastor News

1.   Jasmine Ho will start as our new Interim Administrative Assistant on Sept 13, while Susanna Wong will remain to support and train her until Sept 30. Meanwhile, the postings for the permanent Administrative Assistant and English Pastor have been made public. May God bring us suitable candidates for both positions.

2.  In view of Pastor Joe Chan's workload with the CCACA, his renewable contract as our Interim Pastor of English Ministry has been adjusted to half-time from September to October.

3.   Pastor Monique Chan has been contracted as our Pastor of Children’s Ministry (half-time) from September to December, 2022, renewable.

“Highlights from the Elder Board meeting in August”

a.  The church will return to our current COVID protocol of Stage 5 on September 1. Restrictions on snacks for children and Sunday coffee time will be lifted.  We continue to recommend masking while indoor.

b.   The Board has agreed on a plan to find a new Administrative Assistant

c.   The Board has agreed to hiring a part-time “Children’s Pastor “ ASAP

Announcements - August 14, 2022

1.       Rainbow Garden Paint Day - All Sunday school kids are invited to paint the planters on next Sunday, August 21, from 10:00 to 12:15, weather permitting. Parents and Sunday school leaders are more than welcome to join. Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on or bring an apron to cover up.

2.      Staff News - Serena has resigned from her position as Part-Time Administrative Assistant. Her last day here will be this coming Friday, August 19. We thank God for her faithful and effective service in Newbern since January, 2021. May God bless her path forward.
