Announcements - June 12, 2022
1. Pastoral News – Pastor Marcus will take June 14-20 off for his annual vacation. For urgent matter, please contact Pastor Joe or Elder Ivy this week.
2. Father’s Day Crafts Night - Focus Fellowship will be hosting a crafts night in the church basement from 7:00 - 8:30 on June 18th! All kids are welcome and encouraged to come for a night of gift making and snacks with our young adults!
3. Summer Camp 2022 will be held in-person at Summit Pacific College on July 15-17. This year’s theme is “Creation and the Good News of Jesus Christ,” featuring Rev. Dr. Jonathan R. Wilson as our main speaker. The camp fee is $160 for youths and adults, and $140 for children from age 3-10. The registration deadline is June 19. The registration form has been posted on WhatsApp. Please register early!
4. Children Sports Camp - We are excited to announce that Newbern is once again partnering with Athletes in Action and a few other local churches to host a multi-sports kids camp this summer! The camp will be held at Riverway Sports Complex on July 25 - 29, from 9 to 3. Kids at the camp will learn different skills, sports, and games throughout the week. The camp is for kids ages 5-12 and the cost is $150 per child, if financial support is needed, please reach out to Pastor Marcus. Registration is now live through the AIA link aia.sh/riverway. Spots are limited so make sure to register before they fill up!

1. Ukraine Relief - Praise the Lord! Aside from the donations that our members have made directly to help Ukrainian refugees, our church has collected an additional $2,910 (updated) for that and already sent to our National Office in April. Please continue to pray for the displaced and those who have lost loved ones. May God bring peace to the region soon.

Highlights from the Elder Board meeting in May
a. The church will maintain the restrictions of stage 4 through June, except we will allow asymptomatic people to attend meetings 5 days after the first day of testing positive, provided they test negative before attending, and allow asymptomatic people to attend meetings even if they have close contact with COVID positive people in the last 5 days, provided they test negative before attending.
b. This year’s year-end thanksgiving sharing meeting will move from Sunday afternoon, Dec 25 to Saturday evening, Dec 30, without love feast (Cantonese only event).
c. The church will hold a BBQ event in place of the Carnival on July 9, 2022.
