English Announcements - September 22, 2024

1.    Welcome – A hearty welcome to our guest speaker Pastor Brian Ho. Thank you, Pastor Brian for sharing God’s Word with us today.

2.   This month’s SMC Cantonese Service will take place today, at 2pm. Please pray for the participants and the residents.

3.   Staff News – Pastor Michelle will be out of office from Sep 29th to Oct 19th. Please contact any of the elders or Ps Marcus for any urgent matter instead.

4.   This month, we are sending our financial support to Canadian Chinese Alliance Churches Association (CCACA) and JPQ (CCM Canada). The updated profiles and prayer requests of both organizations have been posted on WhatsApp and on our website.

5.   August Offering Record - Please verify your offering record that has been posted on WhatsApp and contact Elder Roger Hiew for any questions.

6.   2025-2026 Elders Election - After prayer and discussion, the candidates who have accepted the Elder nominations by the Nominating Committee are (1) Horn Lam & (2) Sheldon Tso. Nomination from the congregations is commenced now. Any qualified candidate can be nominated by two church members. All nominated candidate and the two nominating members have to sign the form and submit to Ps Marcus by Oct 6th. The qualified Elders candidate list is distributed today, along with the nomination forms.

A full list of nominees for the 2025-2026 Elders will be announced on Oct 13th. A special members meeting for electing additional Elders for 2025-2026 will be held on Oct 27th. The two candidates with the highest votes, who are selected by more than 50% of the votes, will be Elders for 2025-2026.
