English Announcements - October 6, 2024
1. The Thanksgiving Joint Service will take place on Sunday, Oct 13th at 11:00am in the English Sanctuary. Praise the Lord, Keith Lam and Justin Wong will be getting baptized, and Margaret Kwan will be transferring her membership on Thanksgiving Sunday. There will be a Love Feast after the service, please register with Jasmine by the end of today (Oct 6th). Cost: $15/adult, $10/child (5-12), free for children under 5.
2. Save the date - there will be a special English Worship Lunch Meeting on Oct 20th @ 12:30pm for all those serving on AV, Communion, Chair, Ushering, and Worship. The AV (sound) team will also be getting their own training from a special guest that day and there'll be an optional jam session afterwards for everyone else. Please fill out the Google Form that’s been sent out on WhatsApp or contact Ashley by October 7th to register.
3. 2025-2026 Elders Election - After prayer and discussion, the candidates who have accepted the Elder nominations by the Nominating Committee are (1) Horn Lam & (2) Sheldon Tso. Nomination from the congregations has commenced. Any qualified candidate can be nominated by two church members. Each nominated candidate and the two nominating members have to sign the form and submit to Ps Marcus by tonight. The qualified Elders candidate list and the nomination forms can be picked up at the entrance.
A full list of nominees for the 2025-2026 Elders will be announced on Oct 13th. A special members meeting for electing additional Elders for 2025-2026 will be held on Oct 27th. The two candidates with the highest votes, who are selected by more than 50% of the votes, will be Elders for 2025-2026.

4. Ps Michelle is out of office from Sep 29th to Oct 19th.
5. Pastor Andy Beh has resigned from his role as our English Pastor. Ps Andy wants to spend more time and focus on his family. We are grateful for Ps Andy’s faithfulness, passion, and devotion to our church. His last day will be on Oct 31st. Please continue to pray for Ps Andy, Jennifer, and Charlotte. A farewell lunch for Pastor Andy and his family will be held on Oct. 27th, at 12:30 pm, in the church basement (by freewill offering). Registration begins today until Oct. 20th, please sign with Ivy. The elder election will be held afterward in the English Sanctuary at 1:30 pm.
