English Announcements - Dec 4, 2022

1.    Today is the second Sunday of Advent this year, when we light the candle of peace. May the Lord help us to prepare our hearts.

2.   Pastoral News – We are grateful to the Lord and Pastor Monique that she has agreed to renew her contract with us to the end of June 2023. Until then, may the Lord continue to use her to build up our children’s and youth ministry.

3.   Newbern 47th Anniversary luncheon will be held on Sunday,  January 8, 2023 at 1:30pm at Grand Crystal Seafood Restaurant (address: #2216-4500 Kingsway, Burnaby). Registrations are open until Dec 11. After receiving a generous donation from a member covering part of the cost, it will be $15/adult; and $10/senior (over 65) or child (between 3-12). If you need ride arrangements, please let us know upon registration, and please contact Eva for any questions.

4.   Joint Christmas Candlelight Service will be held on Friday, Dec 23, at 7:30 pm in the English Sanctuary. This year’s theme is “Two Babies”. Please invite your friends and families, and pray for the those leading the evening. Invitation cards are available for pick up in the foyer.

5.   Coffee Corner – Please note that Coffee Corner will be cancelled for the month of December.

6.   2022 Annual Report - Your report for all deacons and department leaders is due by January 16, 2022. Please be prepared and submit your report to Jasmine by e-mail: aa@newbern.bc.ca.

7.   The 2023 church calendars are still available, feel free to pick up some for your family, friends and neighbours!
