English Announcements - September 24, 2023
1. A reception will be held at 12:30pm today at the church basement, after the Installation Service for Ps Andy & Ps Michelle. Please join us if you can!
2. The EMC is meeting later today at 1:30pm. Please pray for our English Ministry leaders as they discuss future ministry directions.
3. The Thanksgiving Joint Service will take place on Sunday, Oct 8 at 11:00am in the Cantonese Sanctuary. Praise the Lord, Marine Jim from the Cantonese congregation will be getting baptized on Thanksgiving Sunday and there will be a love feast after the service as a celebration. The cost of the meal will be $15/adult; $10/youth from age 12-5; and free for children under the age of 5. Please contact Jasmine for registrations before the end of today, Sep 24.
4. Newbern Safe Ministry Webinar: Please note that this webinar has been rescheduled from Sep 30 to Saturday, Dec 2, 2023, at 3-5 pm. Details and poster to come.
5. This month we are sending our financial support to CCACA and JPQ (CCM Cananda). The updated profiles and prayer requests of CCACA will be posted on WhatsApp and later on our website. Please contact Ps Arthur if you wish to know more information about JPQ.
6. Ps Marcus will be out of office from Oct 2 to 18; and the church office will be closed on Oct 3 in lieu of Truth & Reconciliation Day holiday.
7. Friendly Reminder – With the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, we encourage church members to please wear face masks during gathers and services; as well as to get a vaccine booster, for the health and safety of our brothers and sisters.

2024-2025 Additional Elders Election
1. Praise the Lord! After prayer and discussion, the candidates who have accepted the Elder nominations by the Nominating Committee are Roger Hiew, Kenny Kan & Jessica Yuen. Nomination from the congregations is commenced now. Any qualified candidate can be nominated by two church members. All nominated candidate and the two nominating members have to sign the form and submit to Pastor Marcus by Oct 8. The qualified Elders candidate list is distributed today, along with the nomination form.
2. A full list of nominees for the 2024-2025 Elders will be announced on Oct 15.
3. A special members meeting for electing additional Elders for 2024-2025 will be held on Oct 29. (The three candidates with the highest votes, who are selected by more than 50% of the votes, will be Elders for 2024-2025.
4. Please pray for the election and may God call for His servants to serve our church.
