1.     Today is the third Sunday of Advent this year, when we light the candle of love. May the Lord help us to prepare our hearts.

2.   Pastoral News – We are grateful to the Lord and Pastor Monique that she has agreed to renew her contract with us to the end of June 2023. Until then, may the Lord continue to use her to build up our children’s and youth ministry.

3.   Newbern 47th Anniversary luncheon will be held on Sunday,  January 8, 2023 at 1:30pm at Grand Crystal Seafood Restaurant (address: #2216-4500 Kingsway, Burnaby). Registrations are open until today, Dec 11. After receiving a generous donation from a member covering part of the cost, it will be $15/adult; and $10/senior (over 65) or child (between 3-12). If you need ride arrangements, please let us know upon registration, and please contact Eva for any questions.

4.   Joint Christmas Candlelight Service will be held on Friday, Dec 23, at 7:30 pm in the English Sanctuary. This year’s theme is “Two Babies”. Please invite your friends and families, and pray for the those leading the evening. Invitation cards are available for pick up at the foyer.

5.   As we approach the end of 2022, please prayerfully consider making a special Year End Thanksgiving offering in response to God’s grace and to cover the budget shortfall. Special envelopes will be distributed next Sunday for cash and cheque donations. For all online donations, please kindly indicate that it is dedicated towards the Year End Thanksgiving. Please also note that as we are wrapping up our account for 2022, only cash and cheque donations received by Dec 25 and online donations received by Dec 31 will be reflected on the 2022 Offering Summary and receipted as 2022 donations. Money received after those dates will be counted towards 2023.

6.   2022 Annual Report - Would all pastors, elders, department leaders and fellowship leaders please submit your annual reports to Jasmine by Jan 15, 2023 via email at aa@newbern.bc.ca.
